The following specs apply to model 300W tube-series regardless of elevation.
GENERAL:
Series 300W aluminum doors shall be nominal 1 - 3/4" thick stile and rail design, as manufactured by Alutech Corporation, Miami, FL. Aluminum doors shall have 5" stiles and 6" top and bottom rails. Aluminum extrusions shall conform to A.S.T.M's and meet federal specifications and standards for 6063 - T5 extrusions. Extrusion tolerance shall be set by the American Aluminum Manufacturers' Association.
INSULATED CORE:
Fire retardant with an "R" value of 9.00 Urethane core shall be laminated between sheets of 1/8 tempered hardboard for impact reinforcing. Aluminum face sheets 0.040" thick and insulated core shall be bonded together with a thermosetting adhesive to form a waterproof, heat and chemical resistant bond.
PERIMETER EXTRUSION:
Aluminum 1-3/4" x 5" stiles with 1-3/4" x 6" top and bottom rail with a minimum wall thickness of 0.125", Bevel doors 1/8" in 2" at hinge and lock style. Stile and rails connected by 3/8" steel tie rod top and bottom. Hinge and lock reinforcing plates to be 1/4" aluminum plate and secured with stainless steel 12-24 screws. Overall door tolerance shall be plus or minus 1/16".
DOOR LOUVERS:
Louvers model DL-138 shall be 6063-T5 alloy. All fastenings to be stainless steel or aluminum. Inside louver trim to be secured by countersunk jackson head screws. All frames and trim members to be mitered at cornrs and rigidly secured by corner brackets. Please note that not all panel doors require louvers.
GLAZING AND HARDWARE:
Provided are extruded aluminum snap-in glazing beads on interior and exterior of door for field installation of glass by others. Glazing bead shall have vinyl gaskets. Doors are templated for mortise hinges and other mortise hardware as approved. Field drilling and tapping for surface applied hardware.
FINISH:
The standard finish for aluminum doors are 204R1 clear anodized with a minimum coating of 0.4 mils thick and 313 dark bronze anodized class 1. Other finishes available on request.
STANDARD HARDWARE PREPARATION:
Doors shall be prepared for 1-1/2 pair of template type hinges 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" x .134, one cylindrical lockset 2-3/4" backset 2-1/8" bore, one dead bolt 2-3/4" backset 2-1/8" bore (only if required), undercut for 1/2" threshold.
